Welcome to EEOB 563! This course is designed to introduce you to the theory and practice of the phylogenetic analysis. The course emphasizes a hands-on approach to molecular phylogenetics and combines lecture presentations with computer exercises and discussion of original scientific literature.

Textbook

Elizabeth S. Allman, John A. Rhodes. Lecture Notes: The Mathematics of Phylogenetics. 2016. For your convenience, I compiled a list of mathematical symbols used in the textbook.

Accessing Data and Class Files

All of the files used for in-class activities and assignments are published online in a public GitHub repository. It is expected that you will pull any new changes to this repository at the beginning of class. This will enable you to access new data files and scripts needed for in-class activities.
